Christian personal development

Hey, good morning to you. It’s Thursday morning here in the US. Probably evening where some of you are. Some may even be moving into tomorrow where some of you are. But I wanted to say “Hello” to you today. And the issue I want to get into is the importance of . All things that happens as you get older, you begin to realize just how much you don’t really know. I was talking with a friend of mine about two days ago. And he commented that in his last three or four years, he’s begun reading lots of books. And when I look at my life, my reading really began to accelerate in my mid to late 30’s and now I’m constantly reading. I’m constantly watching new things. I’m constantly going to conferences and workshops to expand my knowledge base.

Here’s the real reason behind that. Most of us have an immensely huge dream that inspires us, propels us, we’ve got large goals that we want to accomplish. The reality is, though, to truly handle those things, we have to become a much greater person than we are today. We have to increase our capacity. If we don’t increase our capacity, we end up hitting a ceiling in our , in our development, and what we’re able to accomplish. And so, we have to make an investment into growing personally. Of me, that means I read constantly. If I’m not reading a book on a Kindle or a physical book, I’m listening to an audio book. I’m watching videos. I’m learning new skill sets. I’m trying new things to expand my knowledge base and my capacity. Now, here’s what’s important with that, is you need to surround yourself with a community of people who also are moving in that direction.

Which, by the way, there is a community I’ve created for Christians who want to grow in the arena, but really want that to be biblically based. And so, I’ll drop a link in the comments later for that. But, here’s the thing, when you surround yourself with people who are also taking seriously, they will inspire you. They will push you. They will help hold you accountable to the things that you are pursuing. They will help sharpen your skills. They will cross-pollinate good ideas and good strategies with you. And often times, what comes out of that, is you will find areas where you can do joint ventures together, where you have synergies that are complimentary to the other person. So, here’s the thing I want to challenge you with today.

I want you just to look at your life, your daily routine, and ask yourself: What are you doing to grow as an individual? What are you doing to increase your capacity, so that you can provide greater value to the world, so that you can become much more of an influence on the culture around you? Just a few thoughts for you today. I’m going to drop a link to that group in the comments. Go ahead and subscribe to that. That’ll put you on the newsletter. That will also give you access to this private community of like-minded personal development people. So, talk to you later. Have a great day.
