Investing in Your Network Marketing Business, Part I

Today I am starting a 3 part series called:  Investing in Your Network Marketing Business.   During this series of posts, I will be covering three critical investments you need to make in your .

Today I want to introduce the first investment:  Invest in yourself.

When you boil it all down this is probably the most critical investment you will make in your business.  If you grow stagnant, so will your team.   If you display poor , it will be reflected throughout your team.  It is imperative that you set the example that you expect of your team mates.

The first area of personal investment comes in your skill sets.   Invest regular time to learn and master your craft.   One of the most valuable assets in my personal growth is a weekly webinar by MLSP.   Each week someone teaches me a new approach to my internet marketing.   Through these seminars I have learned blogging techniques, SEO, article marketing, ezine marketing, twitter marketing, Facebook Marketing, and the list goes on…..   These seminars have done more than make me knowledgeable, they have generated tangible leads and sales.   Simply put these seminars have been money in my pocket.  Take advantage of training opportunities that your MLM company provides, they will increase your knowledge and abilities.   This will prove valuable to your team members.

The next area of personal investment comes in your growth as a leader.   With so many great books on , you should never run short of material that expands your horizon.   Even as I’m writing this post I am listening to an audio copy of Jack Welch’s “Winning .” It has been said that “Everything rises and falls on .”  Your ability to influence people is one of the greatest strengths that you should be developing if you want your team to grow strong.

The final area of personal investment is the investment in your personal well-being.   This would include regular time set apart for family, faith, exercise and recreation to name a few.   These are the things that contribute most to positive attitude and outlook.   These are the quality of life issues that we need to be in the proper balance and proportion, no matter how successful you become.   Success in you is meaningless if you haven’t invested in the quality of life issues.  These are the issues that often draw others to MLM in the first place.   Your ability to demonstrate these quality of life issues will help your team to do the same.   Teaching people to succeed, without neglecting the important things in life will bring a healthy balance to your team.

In my next post I will be dealing with what I believe is the second most important investment you can make in your network marketing business.
