How Are You Giving Back?

how are you giving back?

It’s Wednesday, I hope you’re having an amazing day. It may not be morning where you’re at, could be evening, but whatever time of the day it is, I hope you’ve had an amazing day. One of the things I love about Wednesdays is Wednesdays is the day that I give back, so part of my passion is the work that I do within the local church. I have the privilege of serving as a staff pastor in a church here in Wichita, Kansas, and then I also pastor in an international network called The Restoration Network, where I work with church leaders to help them grow and develop in their skills.

But one of the things that I do on Wednesdays is Wednesday morning, we have the staff meeting at the church, and then after that, I teach a group of students, and these are young people between the ages of 18 and about 22. Some of them are wanting to go into the , others are wanting to do other things with their life, but what I do is a one-hour time of really teaching them life skills. So I take them through things such as money management, how to create a business, and of course I always ground that into a Biblical application process for them.

Now, here’s the cool part about this. I take no salary from the church. I take no salary for the international , I take no salary for any of these things. I’m able to support that work through the use of my business, and that’s something that 10 years ago I was dreaming about. It’s been a reality for a number of years, and that is one of the primary ways that I give back. So I take Wednesday mornings to do that. Wednesday evenings, I teach at the church, and I also … of course, Sundays are a busy day for me in the work with the church as well. But all these things are how I give back. Not having to be burden to the church.

One of the scriptures that I took to heart many years ago was the apostle Paul writing in his letters that he could have been a burden to the church, but instead, he chose by the work of his hands to support himself and those who traveled with him so that he might not be a burden to the church. So I’ve been curious. What are some of the ways that you are giving back or what are some of the ways you’re hoping to give back in the days ahead using your business, using your creativity? And I want to really encourage you in those things.

Also, I have created a private group called Biblical Growth Strategies, and if you’d like to be a part of that group, shoot me a message and I’ll send you the link. The reason for that is I want a place where we can interact. The page here is great, it’s a place for me to teach and to give concepts to you, but I wanted to create an environment where you could ask questions, where you could get feedback, where you could share ideas with other people. So if that’s of interest to you, be sure and drop me a comment or send me a message, and I’ll certainly point you to that group.

Anyway, have an amazing Wednesday, and I look forward to talking with you again soon.
