Let’s talk today about taking initiative. So many people sit around waiting for things to happen, but those who truly want to live out the greater dreams that God’s put within them, have to learn to take action. Have to learn to take the initiative to begin putting things in motion.
We realize that God ordains our footsteps. He lays out the path in front of us, but we have the responsibility to take those steps. To follow that path, to get ourselves in motion. The great commission. Jesus told his disciples, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” When you study that word go, the meaning really is as you were going. It implies that you’re already in motion.
So, the reason that I want to put this in front of you today is, often times we have dreams that really are quite obtainable and they are well within reach, if we would just become proactive. If we would just begin to take the initiative. One of the things you may find helpful is simply to begin listing out an action plan that details. What is the first step I need to take? And then what’s the next step beyond that? And begin working on that first step. When you do that the larger goal gets reduced down to bite size pieces that can be accomplished day by day.
Just a few thoughts for you, as you’re finishing out your week this week. I hope you have an amazing weekend and I’ll talk to you again soon.
