I wanted to talk for a few minutes about standing firm in times of uncertainty. Right now, obviously throughout the world, the big talk is the Coronavirus. It’s now hit here in the US. In fact, where I live here in Wichita, they’ve had their first confirmed case and so there is a lot of disruption happening, disruption in our educational system, disruption in the supply chain, our local stores. And people are operating out of fear, anxiety and panic. And so it’s important for us as believers to step back and remember a couple of things. Number one, Satan himself is the author of confusion. And what he seeks to do is confuse and he wants to confuse because he seeks to steal, kill and destroy. But we need to remember that Jesus has overcome the world in his troubles.

We need to remember that God is faithful in his promises. He cares for his people. He will supply all of your need. Now, he won’t always supply all of your wants, but he will supply all of your need. It’s important that we as believers, cling tightly to our . We stand strong on the foundations of God’s word. We stand strong in the fullness of the Holy spirit. We stand strong acknowledging that we have a risen savior who has conquered death, hell and the grave. There is no obstacle we face that is bigger than the God we serve. In fact, this is a great time for the world around us to see that we are people of hope, that we are people who stand strong in the face of adversity, that we are people who operate differently than the world around us. Not in fear and in panic, but in and in wisdom, humbly trusting in his leadership.

One of the things that I often say to those that I’m mentoring and counseling with, God knows more about leading you than you know about following Him. And it’s important to remember that he knows how to lead you through uncertainty. He knows how to lead you through difficulty. The challenge is sometimes we want to run ahead. Sometimes we want to take matters into our own hands. We don’t want to be like Moses who struck the rock twice when he was just told to speak to it. We want to follow in obedience, step-by-step. Not assuming we know better, but allowing the Lord to lead the way. Just a few thoughts for you today. I hope you’ll take those to heart and hope you’ll be encouraged. Don’t get caught up in the sensationalism and the hysteria that the media would love for you to embrace but cling tightly to the savior today.
