Blogging for Network Marketers, step 5 – Monetize your blog

In my previous posts on this series about blogging for network marketers, I’ve covered choosing your domain name, setting up your blog, producing content, publicizing your blog and now I want to get to the most important piece…how to make money from your blog.

I’m going to walk you through this using an easy to understand example.  Let’s say that I am a distributor for Forever Green, and I am wanting to focus on their O3 Weight Management product line as my primary focal product.  The natural tendency would be to blog all about the company and the product, which may produce some sales, but will miss many, many more.

Remember everything you’ve learned up until now.  You are the expert….the trusted resource.  Your blog is all about branding yourself in that light.   Today I’m going to provide you with 3 simple solutions that will help you monetize your blog, creating a sales funnel and multiple income opportunities with your prospects.

  1. – This in my mind is the easiest monetization opportunity at your disposal.  You can set up your account by visiting www..com/adsense. Adsense gives advertisers permission to advertise on your site through ad boxes (You will see the Adsense ads on my this blog).   You receive compensation for every click that comes from your site.  The ads are generally content based, meaning that the ads displayed are somewhat related to the subject matter of your site.
  2. Affiliate Marketing –  Since my primary product is a weight loss product, I would want to offer related types of products and services:  Books on diet & exercise, Exercise Equipment, and other health items.   So one day on my blog, I might talk about a few key points from the Fat Burning Furnace (offered through my Clickbank affiliate program).  If my reader signs up for , I’ve just earned an $18 commission.   A few days later I talk about the Eat Smart Digital Scale (offered through my Amazon.com affiliate program).  If my reader purchases the scale, I’ve earned a minimum 6% commission on the sale.  A few days later, I would discuss an abdominal exercise that uses an exercise ball (offered through my Amazon.com affiliate program).  If my reader purchases the ball, I’ve earned a minimum of 6% on that purchase.   In this example alone, I’ve had the opportunity to earn over $20 in commissions and I haven’t even discussed my primary focal product or my primary MLM opportunity.   I have been branding myself all along as someone knowledgeable in the field of diet and exercise.
  3. Paid Content – The easiest way to accomplish this, is by simply having a members area on your blog.  Charge your members what you believe to be a reasonable fee for the content your will be providing.  In this example, your members area might contain a weekly healthy eating recipe collection or a weekly exercise tip for targeting strategic areas of the body.   Maybe you will give away a diet and exercise related e-book, audio or video resource each month.   The possibilities here are limitless.   There is a second purpose with paid content, that is perhaps even more valuable than the monthly membership fee, and that is listbuilding.   Every good marketer knows that “the money is in the list.” I now have a warm list of prospects who have made a commitment to my value-added service.  These are the people who I will begin to introduce my primary product and company to.
