Carl Willis interviews Laci Friend

Christian Entrepreneur Series – Laci Friend

Carl WillisNo Comments

I met Laci Friend a few years ago when we began attending the same church as her family.  Little did I know that God would take the dream that had inspired me for a number of years and birth a new dream through Laci.

Laci shares her journey of building a business that she wasn’t even looking for and how God has surrounded her with a team that has allowed her to see her dream become reality.

We also discuss the hangups with money that many Christians struggle with as they find success in their business endeavors.

Finally Laci shares how her 40th birthday created a movement of blessing and benevolence with her audience.

I know you’ll be inspired as you watch this interview.

Starting a mastermind group is the easy part, but learning how to conduct a business mastermind meeting takes a little bit of time.

I get it; you’re busy. You feel like as soon as your feet hit the floor every morning you can’t take on one more thing. If you’re running a home business though, you already know that number one rule.

You gotta separate yourself from the rest of the crowd. You absolutely must position yourself as the expert in your field, and become an authority.

One of the ways in which you do that is create a mastermind group and learn how to conduct an effective meeting. Private mastermind groups are an investment that you’ll make with your time, but they will also be one of the most rewarding investments you ever make.

How to Conduct a Business Mastermind Meeting that Elevates Others

Mastermind groups come in all shapes and sizes, but learning how to conduct a business mastermind meeting that elevates others is the meeting that wins the day.

Entrepreneurs fall into two main categories for building the foundation for how you’ll choose the way you conduct your mastermind group.

  1. Those who are new to entrepreneurship and have recently launched.
  2. Those who already have their business up and running.

Once you decide which type of group you’d like to start, you’ll understand how you can best help them and direct your meetings.

Always identify your audience first and finalize it before you ever conduct a meeting. The meeting must cater to those who are in attendance, and those in the group should all be of the same mind.

Make sense?

Here are some other simple rules to follow.

  1. Make sure that everyone has a great internet connection. You would think everyone has high speed internet, but think again. Many companies still offer a low cost option which is fine for those who don’t use internet much. If you have new folks that have recently launched a business, encourage them to get the best speed they can afford. You’ll need it to conduct masterminds online.
  2. Get the right projector for the right crowd. If you are having an onsite meeting, you’ll still want to have great internet, but a projector is also ideal to ensure that everyone can see what your online examples without straining their eyes. This also will depend on the size of your crowd.
  3. Offer coffee and water too! When you host a meeting, treat your guests’ right. It’s important that you get their attention with your presentation, but you’ll also want to ensure that you offer them beverages. Brew up some good coffee, and offer some bottled water or at the very least a pitcher of cold water. It’s a great thing to offer when you’ll be there for a bit.
  4. Proper seating. Good seating is important when you are having your meeting onsite. The chairs should be comfortable, and it’s important that the room is at a comfortable temperature too. If you’re hosting a rather large crowd, make sure that the seats aren’t too close together. That can make some folks uncomfortable.
  5. Proper introductions. Before you get started, give everyone a moment to introduce themselves. Getting to know people and building relationships is what matters most. Allow people to share who they are with you, and get to know them on a first name basis. Allow them a little bit of time to share their background as well, so that you have some idea about where their viewpoint is coming from.

Hopefully, this helps you understand how to start a mastermind group. I’m also hopeful that you’ll see how to conduct a mastermind business meeting in order to get the maximum results!

Your Business Opportunity Is Not Your Business

Your Business Opportunity Is Not Your Business

Do you really have a business or are you simply promoting a business opportunity?

I often see people who mistakenly believe that they have a business, simply because they are promoting a business opportunity.

A business owner realizes very quickly that they are the real product…

…the products and services that they promote are merely the tools of monetization.

Great care is taken in crafting a marketing message that highlights the leadership and value offered by the entrepreneur.

It is through this leadership and value that expertise is demonstrated and trust is built…

…these are the bedrock foundations of the recommendations that sell products and services.

Internet Marketing Training Without All Of The Hype

Carl WillisNo Comments

internet marketing trainingInternet Marketing Training Without All Of The Hype

Finding internet marketing training can be a daunting proposition.  So much of the training out there is tied to some sort of affiliate marketing program.  What is passed off as training is really slickly packaged Clickbank product with an intricate marketing funnel filled with upsells.

What starts out as a $27 product, turns into a $97 upsell product with a $47 one time offer that leads to a $997 course that sells you on the $1997 “exclusive, underground training.”

Some of you are even beginning to grimace as I spell out this rabbit trail of info products, because you’ve found yourself running that hamster wheel before.

You just wanted to learn how to build a business and sell products online….

…You simply wanted some solid internet marketing training.

Instead you ended up building someone else’s business and filled your hard drive with courses, while useful, that still did not answer your most pressing question of how to market your business online.

…the constant testimonials of those earning 6 figure incomes in mere weeks with these products was intoxicating, but ultimately did not move you any closer to your goals.

Is There A Solution For Finding Some Good Internet Marketing Training?

Over the last few years, I have found myself trapped in “info product neverland” myself.   Finding myself in a never ending sales funnel, when all I really wanted was additional internet marketing training to further my business and the value I offer to my business partners.

Even worse, I have seen many unsuspecting small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs unwittingly walk into this type of trap.   They valiantly push through for a little while, but ultimately the credit card bills rack up and they give up.

I have been troubled seeing this happen to great people time and time again.   Last December I had an idea come racing through my head, that robbed me of my sleep.   An idea that would put the training people were seeking at their fingertips in a safe environment, where building an affiliate program was not the main objective.

My idea was simple.  Create an “internet marketing training” video library that operates on a monthly subscription basis…and not for some outrageous amount either.

…but the idea didn’t stop there.

When people get stuck in the upsell abyss, they find that their questions are rarely answered (except with an offer to go buy another course that answers the question).   I decided that a quality site would offer the user a platform to voice their questions and get answers in a timely manner.

…but the idea didn’t stop there.

Once a person grabs a hold of the basic principles, they want to get into more advanced strategies and topics.  Unfortunately in this environment that generally means…..you guessed it….time to buy another course.   So the idea struck me, why not offer a subscription that includes a weekly webinar to help those who want to advance their skills.

Finally, Internet Marketing Training Without The Constant Sales Pitch

Over the past 90 days I started building The Marketing Classroom, bringing the idea to reality.   The Marketing Classroom offers comprehensive internet marketing training on topics such as:

  • article marketing
  • blogging
  • email marketing
  • Facebook groups
  • Facebook fan pages
  • Facebook ppc
  • Google Adwords
  • Google +
  • Linked In
  • Twitter
  • StumbleUpon
  • social syndication
  • social media marketing
  • autoresponders
  • copywriting
  • SEO
  • video marketing
  • banner markting
  • and many more….

The goal of The Marketing Classroom is to provide business owners with a solid training without the constant pressure to buy course after course, all for low monthly subscription.

All training is video tutorial based, allowing the student to work at their own pace….

Students receive notification via email and our Facebook page, when new course material is added…

Students can request training on specific, specialized marketing concepts and challenges…

There are three subscription levels based on the student’s need for additional input and training…

I am so confident in the value of the internet marketing training that is being offered, that I have included a 30 day money back guarantee on all subscriptions and a 3 day $1 trial offer, allowing the prospective student to look around.

If you are someone who needs to be equipped with good internet marketing training without all of the hype and pitch, I invite you to become my student at The Marketing Classroom.

Finding Your Target Market On Facebook

Carl WillisNo Comments

Facebook target marketFinding Your Target Market on Facebook

With nearly a billion subscribers to Facebook, this social networking giant could be a country all by itself.   With this many users, it is impossible to run out of people that you could be talking to on a daily basis.  The reality is that you really don’t want to talk to every one of them. So how do you go about finding the right people to talk to?  Although you could try working your way through all 1 billion users one by one, you would probably die before you got to all of them.  It makes more sense to talk to the people that you really want to be connected to in the first place.   So how do you go about finding  your target market? Here are a few suggestions that will help you connect with your target audience, so you can use Facebook to generate more leads and make more sales.

Where does your target market get their information from?

Who are the leaders setting the pace for your industry?  If your target audience has an interest in real estate investing, chances are they are subscribed to Donald Trump’s fan page.  A cosmetics consultant is likely to find their target market on Kim Kardashian’s fan page.  It is important to realize that trendsetters and industry leaders have a large following.  Obviously, these conversations are one way, since the leader is not going to connect with the follower.  By offering the value that they are trying to obtain from the “celebrity”, you are able to fill that void.

Participate in targeted groups

There are literally hundreds of thousands of active groups on Facebook.  Look to become active in groups that your target market participates in.  There are some do’s and don’ts when participating in groups. Here are some things to remember:

  • Make sure the group is active
  • Join groups of 500 people or more
  • Share helpful content
  • Comment on the posts of other group members
  • Share the content of other group members
  • Don’t spam the group with opportunity links
  • Don’t spam other people’s walls

Through consistent interaction with the group, you will develop a regular flow of leads for your business.  When someone asks a question, give an anwer with either your content or that of someone else.  By doing so, you will posture yourself as a leader in the marketplace.

Listen to what others are saying

This may seem a little “secret agent” at first, but this is a great way to find out what others are talking about.  Go to the search box and enter in a keyword or phrase.  If you get a list of options, click ‘All Results’ at the bottom of the dropdown box.  You should have a list of returns that looks like this:

target market

Choose the option for ‘Public Posts’. Anybody who posted about the topic you chose will show up in your results. You can look through the profiles, and choose who you want to connect with.

Here’s a bonus: Don’t send a friend request here, instead send a direct message asking them to connect. You might say something like, “Hey John, I see you’re a [point of commonality], so am I.  At some point, you send a message that says, “I would like to add you as friend, send a friend request, if you would like to connect.”

You are now allowing your prospect to make the friend request, instead of you requesting a friend you don’t know.  This will keep you in the good graces of the folks at Facebook.

Using either of these methods consistently will generate a consistent flow of leads from your target market for your business.

How To Grow A LegalShield Business

Carl WillisNo Comments

LegalShieldHow To Grow a Business with LegalShield

Have you ever known someone that needed a document reviewed and wanted to have an attorney look it over, but didn’t because they didn’t think they had the money?  Have you ever met anyone that needed to get their will done, but they put it off thinking it would be too expensive to have an attorney draw one up?  Many people ignore their need for an attorney, because they fear the high prices attorneys are known to charge.  Instead they opt for trying to figure it out on their own or they buy software that may or may not be guiding them accurately.

LegalShield offers a business opportunity that allows ordinary people to earn additional income by providing a service that everyone needs.   For a monthly fee, customers of LegalShield have access to attorneys for a variety of legal services.  Prospects are educated on the opportunity and introduced to the membership.  LegalShield is the recently rebranded name of PrePaid Legal, a company that has been around for 40 years.   The main question that any new representative will have is:  “How do I grow my business?”

    1. Know your product line.  It is critical that you become a student of  LegalShield.   Learn the products, services, compensation plan and any other aspects of the business.   You will become more valuable to your clients and team members when you take the time to become more knowledgeable about your business.
    2. Share the opportunity with large numbers of people!  This is best accomplished through the use of an online marketing system.  My Lead System Pro is the premiere training program that will teach you the principles of branding yourself online. With My Lead System Pro, you will learn the strategies of internet marketing that will allow you to generate an infinite amount of leads for your business. My Lead System Pro will teach you how to create a sales funnel to your LegalShield business, that you even allows you to profit from those who say no to your business, plus you will create additional profits from those who do join your team!

  1. Find a mentor.  Your sponsor will be the first place to look; however, your mentor can be someone else.  Find someone who has achieved the level of success you desire, and speaks your language.   A good mentor will help you negotiate the challenges you face in your business.  Be the best student that you can be!  Shadow your mentor on appointments and calls.  Take note of the things you’d like to implement in your own business.  Remember at the end of the day, you are responsible for your success NOT your mentor.
  2. Utilize a follow-up system.  Follow up is the place where most people lose business.  Even though you use the power of the internet to generate leads, you still need to call those leads.  Even though you may establish your relationship on the internet, do not leave it there.  If the lead voluntarily provides their phone number, CALL THEM!  Make it your practice to call all leads within 24 hours of generating the lead.
  3. Duplicate your LegalShield team.  Build your team using methods that are easily duplicated.  Offer strategies that are easy to duplicate both online and offline, so your team can easily reproduce in either environment.  If you regularly talk to 50 people per day, that’s great;  however, that might not be something everyone in your team can duplicate.   On the other hand a strategy for generating 5 new contacts per day should be easy to duplicate for everyone.

If you are looking to connect with someone who can help you grow your LegalShield business, and guide you to success connect with me.

purple cowDo You Stand Out From Your Competition?

I recently finished reading the book Purple Cow by Seth Godin.   In the book Seth discusses the necessity of a business finding  ways to be distinctive in the marketplace.   This is especially critical in the world of online marketing where thousands of affiliates are marketing the same products, services and MLM opportunities.

In this video I take you through one of my Facebook marketing strategies that allows me to be the “purple cow” that stands out from the rest of the crowd.

Hello From Kansas!

Carl Willis2 comments

Over the past two weeks, I have been relocating my family and ministry from the Texas coast to my hometown of Wichita, KS.  Just because I was on the move, didn’t mean my business had to come to a standstill.   Learning how to network is a key to keeping your business moving forward every day of the year.   I recently came across an article on the topic of networking that I thought you might find of value.

Networking is more than just putting your business name out there for people to find you, but it is also a part of getting to know people, who are going to spread the word about what you do, what you sell, and that are going to support you in all that you do. Networking is going to involve getting to know as many people in life as you can, and putting your business in front of those people, so they will represent your name, your business, and will tell others about what you have to offer.

If your business requires that you travel often, or perhaps you travel often to find supplies, visit relatives or just because you like it. You should make it a point to get to know those who you are sitting beside, those who are surrounding you on the plane, even those who are sitting on the bench while waiting in the airport. Make it a point to meet and greet at least one new person a day.

How are you going to get started on this?

Start the conversation by saying hello, how are you today?
Ask questions. The best way to get to know someone is to ask questions. Without asking questions, it can be difficult to carry on a conversation. Asking questions is a good icebreaker, in turn, the person is going to want to talk about their self, and where they are traveling too. You can then lead into something like, is this business trip or a personal trip? As you go on with the conversation, the person is going to ask you questions, which is where you will be able to talk about your business and what you do.

As you make it a point to get to know at least one new person a day- you are going to increase your network, which means you will increase the people that you know in life. Increasing your business network is going to be dependent on your abilities to carry on a conversation and to talk with others. Force yourself to do this. Force yourself to stick to your habit of meeting at least one new person a day. As you make this a point, you will make this a habit and in the long run, your business will thrive for it.
