Would You Use Your MLM Products?

MLM products are the centerpiece of a network marketing business.  It is the direct sales of these goods and services that fuels the compensation plan and growth of a network marketing business.  Keeping this in mind it is critical that the products you choose to represent have sufficient market place demand to sustain a viable business operation.

The first consideration is market place awareness.  This awareness really comes at two levels.  The first is felt need awareness.  Does the buying public have an awareness of the felt needs that your MLM product is meant to fulfill?  When the awareness of the felt need does not exist, then education will also need to be a part of the overall marketing consideration for any business built around this product.   The second consideration is awareness of the product itself.   Even though the market may not be aware of your particular product, is the marketplace aware of this type of product or solution for the exposed felt need?

One of the questions I use to help potential distributors evaluate an opportunity is this:  “If you weren’t going to be a distributor for this company, would you naturally be looking for this product or service?”   If the answer is “no” then I help the potential distributor see the challenges they are going to be facing in the marketplace if they choose promote those particular MLM products.    This not only makes the retail sales aspect of the business difficult, but it can also be a hindrance to building a downline as well.   A good product is often the doorway through which new distributors enter the business.   They start as consumers and then move into the business after they have discovered the value in the product or service.

Ideally you should be looking for products that have a market

Ideally you should be looking for products that have a market in both the network marketing community and the buying public as a whole.   An easy gauge of the marketability of a product is to simply look at traditional brick and mortar retail establishments for similar products and services.  A quick search with the Google keyword tool will also reveal the type of marketplace demand that your particular network marketing products have.    Just this little bit of research can save you the heartache of a poor product selection.

The difficulties experienced in building a network marketing business can be greatly reduced when you make good choices in the MLM products you choose to represent.
