Has Attraction Marketing Failed You?

Has attraction marketing Failed You?

Attraction marketing has been among the buzzwords in online marketing over the past several years.   This is especially true in the field of , where the teaching of Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring have been quoted and touted with reckless abandon.  Marketing systems such as My Lead System Pro have taken these principles and taught them to thousands of desperate network marketers who were desperately searching for ways to make their business work.  The end result of all of this attention has been the stories of “overnight success” and on the other side of the equation, those who are left to believe that attraction marketing is just one more thing that doesn’t work.

The Real Truth About Attraction Marketing

What we now refer to as attraction marketing has actually been around for decades.   Business people have been attending Dale Carnegie courses for years, learning similar principles of leading with value.   The truth is attraction marketing is a time tested principle of business.   So the question becomes, why are so few enjoying the fruits that are supposed to accompany this type of market place positioning?

There really are two answers to this question.  The first answer deals with perception and the second deals with perseverance.   Let me start by addressing the issue of perception.  In the world of many people, unfortunately, enter into a business, because their backs are against the wall.  The difficulties may stem from loss of employment, divorce, the kids braces, bankruptcy or any number of other difficult factors.   Since these individuals are entering their business from a place of deep financial need, they tend to be extremely desperate for “quick fix” answers.   When they hear the seemingly overnight rags to riches stories of those who have used attraction marketing principles and systems, they realize that this could be their answer as well.

Sadly, what most people don’t realize is that there is also generally a lesser known back story to many of these tales of quick success.   These are factors that the individual marketer was able to leverage as they implemented attraction marketing into their business.   These factors may include such things as substantial leaders from previous MLM companies or a large Rolodex of professional contacts from prior business dealings.  It is these lesser known variables that sometimes paint the unrealistic picture.

The truth of the matter is, attraction marketing works.  It has been used to build businesses for years and it will continue to build businesses for years to come; however, it takes a proper perspective to make it work.   These principles are not a quick fix or an immediate solution for a pressing financial crisis.   They are instead a long-term framework for building a lasting business that will continue to grow throughout the years.   So the reality of attraction marketing is that you must see it for what it is and secondarily you must have the perseverance to see it through.

Attraction Marketing Works When You Stick With It

There is one element that rises above all of the others when it comes to making attraction marketing work in your business…the willingness to see it through.   I began implementing this type of philosophy into my business about 20 months ago and it has taken time to till the ground, plant the seeds and nurture the soil; however, about 6 months into the journey I began to see the momentum build.   My mailing list began to grow, my Alexa ranking began to improve and the emails started coming in.   After about a year, people began doing Google searches of my name, while at the same time others began calling trying to recruit me.   A few months after that, people began signing up into my network marketing business without even talking to me and others called just wanting to work with me.    Attraction marketing has worked well for me, but it has taken time.

The other point that I want to make here, is that you must be yourself if you are to fully realize the potential of attraction marketing.   I see so many marketers out there who are simply becoming cardboard cutouts of everyone else.  They join the same companies, they create a blog that looks like every other MLM blog and they all film their videos the same way.   Unless you inject your personality and your uniqueness into the mix, you lose the effectiveness of the principle altogether.

If you feel as though attraction marketing has failed you, I would encourage you to give it another go.  Close your ears to the hype and work on showing the world what you’re all about.  If I can help you in any way, give me a call.
