Building a network marketing business sounds easy enough when you first hear the presentation.  You begin using the product and in turn you share the product and your experiences with others, who also begin sharing the product with others until everyone is sipping fruity drinks on a white sandy beach.   Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?   Anyone that has been involved in network marketing for any length of time knows that although in theory this works well, the reality of building a network marketing business is a much more complex undertaking.

Building A Network Marketing Business – Have A Plan

One of the first mistakes that many new marketers make is the failure to develop a business plan.   Home business owners who operate without a plan typically find themselves wandering around aimlessly.   They jump from to looking for the “secret” that is going to start putting money in their pockets.   It is not long until the jumping is no longer marketing strategies, but transforms into opportunity jumping.   The assumption is that the opportunity is flawed, even though others are making great incomes from those same companies.   So what is the breakdown?   At the end of the day building a network marketing business requires a workable plan, so that nothing is left to chance.

Proper planning starts with your dream.   Imagine that you were taking a road trip from Los Angeles to New York City, but you chose not to do any planning.   You would already be running into trouble before you left Los Angeles.   There would be confusion as to which roads you needed to be driving on and even which direction you needed to start out on.   This doesn’t even begin to address the issues such as where you would eat, sleep and purchase fuel.   How long would this trip take?  Unfortunately, many people are building a network business in a similar haphazard manner.

What is it that you really hope to accomplish with your home business?  Making money may be your first answer, but the real issue is what do you intend to do with that money.  Once you understand your purpose, you have a final destination identified.  It is from this point that your planning will begin.  Your encompassing plan needs to include such things as daily schedules, weekly schedules, monthly schedules and annual sales.   These schedules should include such things as your marketing, training and coaching.

Building A Network Marketing Business – Ramp Up Your Activity

Human contact is the key to building a network marketing business.  These interactions may take many various forms.  This could include such things as face to face meetings, phone calls, emails, social networking and video presentations.   The key to making your business work is to leverage the power of high numbers.   Without a plan for ramping up your activity, you will cut your business short.

There are two keys to ramping up your activity.  These keys are leverage and cash flow.   Most home businesses fail because the business either runs short of leads or runs short of cash.   Both of these problems are deadly to your business if they are not overcome; however, the good news is that they are overcome very easily if you will make a commitment to your business.

When I speak of leverage, I am speaking of using tools that take your action and multiply the effectiveness of that action.   This could be something as simple as speaking to groups of people instead of just doing one on one meetings.  Using the internet to speak to more people on a daily basis is another example of leverage as well.   As you begin to move towards leverage in your business, you will quickly realize the necessity of cash for scaling up the leverage of your business.   The most effective tools for allowing you to speak to greater numbers of people in a shorter period of time will cost money, so it is imperative that you create sufficient cash to fund those leveraging tools.   As you scale out your business you will achieve your financial goals in a much shorter period of time.
